Buyer terms of use

Last updated: May 2026

These terms apply only when you use CONGO CAR VIEW as a buyer. Sellers have separate Vendor terms of use, linked from the vendor workspace footer.

1. Agreement

These Buyer Terms of Use (“Buyer Terms”) apply when you browse CONGO CAR VIEW, create or use a buyer account, send messages or price requests, participate in negotiations, place orders where available, initiate payments linked through checkout or payment tooling on the site, or use other features clearly intended for buyers. By continuing as a buyer—or by ticking acceptance where offered—you agree to the current Buyer Terms. If you disagree, discontinue buyer use.

2. Vendor terms

Selling on the marketplace is governed by separate vendor rules. Sellers remain responsible for the accuracy of their listings, lawful sale of vehicles, fulfilment of agreed terms with you (price, paperwork, inspections, timelines), and compliance with taxation, customs and consumer rules that apply to them.

3. Age, account accuracy, security

You declare that you meet the minimum age required in your country to conclude binding contracts online (typically eighteen). Profile data must remain truthful. You are accountable for acts performed while logged into your buyer account and must protect passwords and devices. Inform support without undue delay of suspected compromise. Accounts may be limited or terminated for misuse, unlawful conduct, abusive behaviour toward vendors or staff, fraud, circumventing safeguards, scraping or attacks on the Platform, or serious breach of these Buyer Terms.

4. Who you contract with

Except where the Platform plainly states that it is intervening under a labelled programme or guarantee, listings are advertisements by vendors. The sale of the vehicle—including description, conformity, lawful title transfer, lien release where relevant, recalls, latent defects observable at sale, cancellations, refunds, delivery handover—is mainly between you and the vendor unless mandatory law dictates otherwise. CONGO CAR VIEW does not ordinarily guarantee performance by a vendor beyond providing software and facilitation. Statutory buyer rights toward the vendor remain unaffected where applicable law says they cannot be waived.

5. Listing information and your diligence

Descriptions, photos, vehicle data and catalogue-assisted fields mainly come from vendors or automated tools; they may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Reference catalogues (make, model, fuel, steering, condition, etc.) support consistency only—they are not a substitute for inspection. You are responsible—except where mandatory law allocates duties differently—for inspections, lien or encumbrance checks where appropriate, validating identity and paperwork, insurance, licensing, taxation, customs, conformity of the vehicle to what was agreed with the seller, and any escrow or verification steps that make sense before you transfer funds.

6. Acceptable behaviour

Use marketplace chats, negotiation tools and messaging respectfully and lawfully. You must not harass or threaten others, discriminate unlawfully, impersonate sellers or administrators, falsify identities or payments, circumvent security controls or mandated payment flows, scrape or misuse the Platform in ways that degrade it for others, send malware or spam unrelated to genuine purchase interest, or use the marketplace to launder money, violate sanctions, or breach export-control obligations that apply to you. We may warn you, suspend access, escalate to fraud or compliance partners or authorities when proportionate.

7. Payments, orders, cancellations and disputes

When you checkout or confirm an order, you accept the wording shown at that moment (price, extras, timelines, currencies) together with seller policies echoed in order threads unless mandatory law contradicts. Refunds and cancellations depend on seller practice, PSP rules where payment is processed electronically, chargeback timelines where regulators grant them irrespective of storefront policy, escrow contracts you voluntarily enter off-platform—all beyond pure software introduction. Tax, accounting and regulatory filings are yours to arrange with advisers; excerpts or summaries surfaced on screens are illustrative only.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of Platform liability

Except where mandatory consumer law between you and sellers says otherwise, buyer-facing software on CONGO CAR VIEW is provided on an as-is, as-available basis. Subject to non-waivable law, CONGO CAR VIEW is generally not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your dealings with sellers. Our total liability connected with these Buyer Terms (excluding fraud or wilful misconduct attributable to the marketplace operator, or injury that cannot be capped by law) is limited to the greater of fifty US dollars (US$50) or the net fees you paid the Platform for optional buyer services in the twelve months before the claim—this does not include money you paid sellers for vehicles. Courts or regulators may impose a different minimum where required.

9. Changes, languages and contacting us

We may amend Buyer Terms. Material updates may appear via banners, updated acceptance dialogs, help pages or, if permitted, transactional email/SMS channels. Continuing buyer use after the posted effective date means you accept revisions except where statutes grant revocation or cooling-off rights. English and French versions aim to convey the same meaning; where they diverge locally mandatory consumer-protection standards govern. For questions contact details on the Help page footer or notices from your marketplace administrator. The authoritative text is the version published on this site at the indicated last-updated timestamp.
